Mr. Arnold opened the Arnold Law Firm in 2005. He focuses his practice on representation of charter schools, private schools, and other educational services providers in both transactional and litigation matters throughout Florida. Mr. Arnold has represented businesses, charter and private schools, management organizations, and universities in employment law defense and contract disputes with vendors and school districts. Mr. Arnold also has extensive experience in transactional matters such as negotiating charter contracts with school districts, commercial tenancies, purchases and sales of businesses, sale and development of real property, construction contracts and partnership agreements. Mr. Arnold regularly attends client governing board meetings and provides training to clients on legal matters. Mr. Arnold has also presented numerous lectures at the Florida Charter School Conference.
Mr. Arnold was the first attorney in Florida to be board certified by the Florida Bar in both Criminal Trial and Education Law. Mr. Arnold earned his Criminal Trial Law certification based upon his trial experience gained as a prosecutor in Jacksonville from 2000 to 2004. Mr. Arnold earned his board certification in Education Law in 2016 based upon his work for more than a decade with educational institutions. Mr. Arnold has tried to verdict more than 50 jury trials. In addition, Mr. Arnold has been lead counsel in circuit court, administrative hearings, and before the Florida Department of Education throughout the state on education matters. On an appellate level, Mr. Arnold has prevailed in appeals representing clients in the 1st, 4th, and 5th District Court of Appeals in Florida. Mr. Arnold is a member of the Florida, Georgia, and Colorado Bar Associations.
Prior to attending law school, Mr. Arnold ran a successful restaurant franchise in South Florida for four years. Mr. Arnold graduated undergraduate and law school, with honors, from the University of Florida. Mr. Arnold has been very active in coaching youth sports since 1989. Mr. Arnold also serves on committees and does pro bono legal work for not-for-profit entities in Jacksonville. Mr. Arnold is a volunteer coach at Bolles High School in track and cross country. Mr. Arnold is married to Melissa Gross-Arnold, shareholder at the Arnold Law Firm. They have one son, Benjamin.
